In the end, even the simple subjects turn out to be more complicated than you first thought once you start to work on them. I found this a good study on edges, particularly of the shadows, which were very soft in the indirect light from my studio window, and also the various reflected lights in the metal parts of the tube. I wanted to get the feel of the location's charms

and I found that it made a very pretty scene
