Vintage Belt Necklace

Vintage Belt NecklaceEven though part of this delightful little vintage belt was missing and it was showing its age (aren't we all!), I couldn't help but bring it home to see if I could reinvent it somehow. I decided to make the original buckle the top of the necklace and each of the seven segments below has a pretty delicate stamped design possibly to imitate cut steel. I love the beautiful worn patina of greyish silver although it may well have been very much brighter

This necklace has a pendant made up of two nozzles

I have reinvented them into charms for this gold-coloured metal chain

I have sewn them to a backing and added hand beaded details

We've picked out small beads in colours from the design on the front for the necklace in gold
