First on the battlefield and later as ceremonial weapons. Their curved shape meant that when a soldier on horse charged, the greatest amount of the blade hit the enemy as they rode past, hacking left and right. The sword comes with polyurethane in the shape of a leather hilt, steel crossguard and gold
