This is an original oil painting from my artist residency at Cogges Manor Farm in Witney (Oxfordshire) focusing on a flock of the Manor's chickens enjoying the shade on a sunny day

I enjoyed trying to capture the feeling of the cold river and loved how the cool greys contrasted with the warmer colours of the fields in the distance

as I was able to use larger brushes with broader strokes to quickly capture the mood of this particular moment whilst still maintaining a certain level of detail
