Manchester Bees and Honeycomb Gyotaku PrintI got these bees and honeycomb from a bee keeper in Chorlton, Manchester. Bees have a short lifecycle and so the specimens I have were all found dead around the hive. Not the easiest of things to print but worth the effort once I got the hang of it! I've printed these bees with a section of their honeycomb on Thai Mulberry paper measuring around 20x20cm. Once the print is dry, it's wet mounted using the traditional Japanese method of a flour paste.
