Lobster Love, Gyotaku Impression of an Anglesey LobsterLobster are a local seasonal seafood here on the island of Anglesey. Many local people have pots in the waters around the coast. They are such a feature of our local marine life that I always wanted to record them. However working with a hard shelled creature that is so three dimensional was always going to be a challenge. It took me a long time to find a way of making successful prints. The lobster I worked with to make this print was caught in a pot

This A4 print is on Thai Mulberry paper and has been mounted using the authentic Japanese wet mounting technique caller Urauchi

I can see the waters from my studio window

The cards are 5x7 inches in size that's 12

5cm and has been mounted using the authentic Japanese wet mounting technique which uses a simple flour and water paste and requires a period of around 24 hours to dry and stretch

The print is supplied unframed and is simply wrapped in an acid free tissue paper and posted in a tube
